“Let a program run my online income” is rarely one tool. It is four unrelated pipelines: publishing content, cutting short videos, wiring up affiliate links, and sending outreach. MoneyPrinterV2 (Python, AGPL-3.0, about 32.1k stars as of 2026-10-15) automates the first three plus outreach — and it is the upstream original of the Chinese community fork MoneyPrinterTurbo (131k stars), which took only the short-video leg and expanded it heavily.
Core features
- Twitter bot: scheduled posting driven by CRON, the earliest mature module in the repo.
- YouTube Shorts automation: the full pipeline from assets to upload, also driven by the scheduler.
- Affiliate marketing: Amazon affiliate products tied to Twitter content, generating promotional posts at volume.
- Local business discovery and cold outreach: finds local businesses and reaches out in bulk — the README warns you need the Go runtime installed first if you plan to email scraped businesses.
- Modular architecture: the README describes a complete rewrite of the original MoneyPrinter, split by function; the
scripts/directory calls core features without the interactive UI, e.g.bash scripts/upload_video.sh. - Python 3.12 required: stated up front in the README; older versions do not work.
- Community forks are the norm: the README itself lists community-maintained versions for other languages — MoneyPrinterTurbo is the Chinese one — and asks that forks be registered by opening an issue describing the changes.
Typical use cases
- A solo operator tired of posting by hand every day: set the schedule for the Twitter and Shorts pipelines and let them run.
- An affiliate site owner: connect Amazon products to content generation and scale promotional output.
- A developer delivering “run this for me” contracts: short video plus distribution plus outreach, scripted end to end.
Quick start
git clone https://github.com/FujiwaraChoki/MoneyPrinterV2.git
cd MoneyPrinterV2
cp config.example.json config.json # fill in each platform's API keys
python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate # Windows: .\venv\Scripts\activate
pip install -r requirements.txt
python src/main.py
Fill in keys per module in the config file and set schedules in its CRON section; to run a single stage, use the matching script under scripts/.
Summary
For individuals and small teams automating content distribution and affiliate marketing, and for developers delivering managed-operation work. It is not a turnkey product — every platform needs its own API key, there are many settings, and parts of the flow (cold outreach) sit close to platform rules, with ban risk when abused. The license is also AGPL-3.0 (copyleft), so building a service on it obliges you to open-source your code. As of 2026-10-15 the repo has 32,110 stars in Python, last pushed 2026-09-15 — maintained, but not at a fast cadence.
If short-video generation is all you need, MoneyPrinterTurbo is the more focused Chinese fork (MIT, 131k stars, with more localized voice and asset services); for a local-first audio workspace, YoVoice is a different direction entirely.
